Privacy
Privacy statement
Short, because the site collects little. It follows the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988.
What is collected
Only what you type into the room request form: name, email, phone if given, number of guests, dates, the room chosen, the reason for the stay, notes, your consent to a reply, and the address of the page the form was sent from. Nothing is collected from people who only read the pages.
Why, and who receives it
The information is used to answer the request. To do that, the desk shares the details of the stay — names, dates, guests, room and relevant notes — with Crown's reservations team or the booking partner checking the rate. If you accept an offer, the hotel or partner handles the booking under its own privacy policy. Your details are not sold, rented or used for marketing, and no newsletter is sent.
Cookies, analytics and third parties
- This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts.
- Fonts and pictures are served from this site's own server.
- The page is delivered through Cloudflare, which processes connection data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site. The server is hosted with DigitalOcean in Sydney.
- Google Maps: on the home page the map loads only when you press its button. On the arrival page the map is embedded from Google and loads as you scroll to it; Google then receives your IP address and may set its own cookies. Links marked ↗ open other websites with their own policies.
Storage and security
A request is received by the site's server in Sydney and forwarded to the desk's records system and mailbox, which are hosted outside Australia (in the United Kingdom and with the desk's email provider). It is kept for up to 12 months for the desk's records, then deleted. Cloudflare may process connection data outside Australia as the site's network provider. Connections are encrypted and access to requests is limited to the desk.
Access, correction and deletion
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information held about you by writing to hello@yarrapromenadeguide.com. If you are not satisfied with the answer, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner; the Australian Privacy Principles are published there.
