Two days at Crown Towers, hour by hour

The plan assumes two adults in a room with Crystal Club access, arriving on a Friday in November and leaving on Sunday. Where the club is not part of the stay, an alternative is given. Restaurant reservations are made with Crown; the hotel request is the only part this site handles.

Friday

1. 15:00Arrive
   Check in

   Check-in opens at 3pm. Early arrivals register and leave bags; the front desk calls or texts when the room is ready. With the club, check-in is upstairs on Level 3.

2. 15:45Level 3
   Pool

   The 25-metre heated indoor pool and its day beds, on the same floor as the club and the spa.

3. 17:30Club
   Drinks and canapés

   The club page gives pre-dinner drinks from 5:30pm, the hotel FAQ from 5pm; both end at 7:30pm. Without the club: TWR in the lobby, open until 11pm on Fridays.

4. 18:30Dinner
   Rockpool Bar & Grill

   Friday dinner runs from 6pm to 10pm. The 10 per cent surcharge at Rockpool applies on Sundays, not Fridays.

5. 20:00Fire
   First gas brigade show

   In November the first show is at 20:00, then on the hour until 1am on Fridays.

6. 21:30River
   Bellevue terrace

   Open until 3am on Friday nights, on the Riverwalk facing the towers.

Saturday

   Club breakfast or Conservatory

   Weekend club breakfast runs to 11am (club page) or to noon (hotel FAQ). Conservatory serves breakfast to Crown Towers guests at weekends, 7–10:30am.

   NGV International

   Opens at 10am, free entry, 180 St Kilda Road. Some spaces may be closed until 13 December for the Triennial installation.

3. 12:30Lunch
   High tea at TWR, or Koko

   TWR serves high tea on Saturdays and Sundays from 11am, last seating 3:30pm. Koko serves lunch 12–2:30pm, Tuesday to Sunday.

4. 15:00Spa
   Crown Spa

   Arrive an hour early to use the Aqua Retreat before a treatment of an hour or more. Weekend treatments carry a surcharge. No under-16s.

5. 17:30Club
   Afternoon into evening

   Drinks and canapés in the club, or the Atrium Bar's champagne list from noon on Saturdays (18+, casino floor).

6. 19:00Dinner
   Spice Temple or Nobu

   Spice Temple opens 5:30–11pm daily; Nobu 12–11pm on Saturdays, bookings essential. Koko's Saturday dinner runs 5–10:30pm.

7. 21:00Fire
   The 21:00 show from the promenade

   Still on the hour; the last Saturday show is at 1am.

Sunday

   A slower start

   Club breakfast until 11am or noon depending on the timetable; Conservatory to 10:30am.

2. 10:30Bags
   Pack before 11

   Check-out is at 11am and late check-out is not available on Sundays. The Bell Service Desk stores luggage after check-out.

3. 12:00Lunch
   Rockpool or Bistro Guillaume

   Rockpool's lunch runs 12–2:30pm (Sunday surcharge applies); Bistro Guillaume from noon on its Riverwalk terrace.

4. 14:30Leave
   SkyBus from Southern Cross

   Trams 96, 109 and 12 run between Casino/MCEC and Southern Cross Station; SkyBus departs for the airport every 10 minutes.

Changing the plan

• In December, move the first fire show to 21:00.
• Without the club, breakfast at Conservatory on Saturday and Sunday is the in-house alternative for Crown Towers guests.
• On a total fire ban day the gas brigades do not fire at all.
• Travelling with children under 16? Swap the spa for the pool, and the Atrium Bar for TWR.
