Crown Towers, read from the top floor down
Eight room and suite categories plus villas, a club lounge, a pool deck and a function space on level 29. Crown publishes the floor for some of them and stays silent on others; this page sets out exactly which is which.

Crown Towers Melbourne is the five-star hotel of the Crown Melbourne complex at 8 Whiteman Street, Southbank. Wikipedia, a secondary source, gives the tower 38 floors holding 481 rooms and villas; Crown's own pages do not print either number. What the official room pages do print is more useful for choosing a room: the floor band of several categories, the floor area in square metres, the bed set-up and the number of guests each one takes.
The directory, top to bottom
- 29LevelHorizon — events, not rooms
Crown's wedding page places Horizon “in the private quarters of Level 29 at Crown Towers Melbourne”, for up to 120 standing or 100 seated. It is the only published floor above the guest-room bands. See functions.
- 19–28LevelsPremier Twin Room
51 m², two queen beds, up to four people, panoramic city or bay views. The only standard category Crown places in the upper band. Premier Twin.
- 8 +LevelStudio Room
54 m², one king bed, two people, with “a guaranteed level on the 8th floor or above”. The guarantee is a floor minimum, not a band. Studio.
- 5–18LevelsDeluxe King, Deluxe Twin and Premier Suite
Deluxe King (43 m²) and Deluxe Twin (51 m²) are both placed on levels 5 to 18, and so — less expected — is the 77 m² Premier Suite. Deluxe King · Deluxe Twin · Premier Suite.
- 3LevelCrystal Club, Koko, pool, gym and spa
The Crystal Club is “located on the third floor of Crown Towers Melbourne”. Koko gives its address as Level 3 Crown Towers. Crown's site map draws the Crown Towers Pool & Gym and Crown Spa on Level 3 as well. Crystal Club · Spa · Pool.
- GLobbyTWR and the front desk
TWR (The Waiting Room) is “located in the lobby, Crown Towers”. The hotel lists its own hours as 24 hours, Monday to Sunday. Bars.
- ?UnpublishedPremier King, Executive Suite, Executive Club Suite, Villas
No floor is printed for these four. Requests can still name a preference — high, low, river side — and the desk passes it on as a preference, not a promise. Premier King · Executive Suite · Executive Club Suite · Villas.

What every room shares
The eight category pages repeat the same core specification almost word for word, so the differences between categories are mostly area, bed set-up, views and floor. Every room and suite lists a deep soaking bath with a television built into the wall above it, double vanities, a separate dressing room, a rain shower in its own enclosure, Crown Towers bathroom products, robes and slippers. Every one lists a writing desk with two chairs, a personal bar and refrigerator, 24-hour in-room dining and a dedicated concierge.
The technology list is also shared: complimentary wireless internet, individual temperature control, a high-definition LCD television with cable and on-demand films (charged), hands-free direct-dial phones, a hairdryer, ironing equipment, an in-room safe, a Nespresso machine with complimentary pods and tea-making things, an in-room tablet for room service and guest services, and Chromecast. Crown adds a line on every page that each room is unique and that “images, views and floorplans are an indicative representation”. That sentence matters when a particular view is the reason for the booking; the honest way to ask for one is in the notes of the request.
Reading the floor bands
Three things follow from the published bands. First, a Deluxe room cannot sit above level 18, so anyone who wants the city laid out well below the window and is choosing between twin rooms is choosing between Deluxe Twin (5–18) and Premier Twin (19–28). Second, the Studio's “8th floor or above” overlaps the Deluxe band rather than sitting above it. Third, the Premier Suite, despite its size and its 180-degree glazing, is placed in the same 5–18 band as the Deluxe rooms.
For the four categories without a published floor, nothing here guesses one. A request that names “high floor” goes to the hotel as a preference; the hotel decides on the day, and the reply from the desk says so.
Views: Crown describes them category by category as city, Yarra River or Port Phillip Bay. No category promises a specific view. Ask for one in the notes, and treat it as a request.
